Updated Absence Guidelines

Absences are excused when a parent or guardian notifies the school.

Once a student reaches 10 total absences, they are considered to be approaching chronic absenteeism.

 At that point, documentation (such as a doctor’s note or official paperwork) will be required for any further absences to be excused.

 

Notifications through ParentSquare will occur in case of

• Daily Absence: 8:45 a.m.
• Afternoon Missed Period: 2:00 p.m.
• Health Office Visit Notifications: 2:55 p.m

 

Families will also receive alerts when a student reaches:

• 5 absences – Information and support options included
• 10 absences – Next steps and required documentation
