Hello Weikel Elementary Community!
I am incredibly excited and honored to serve as your principal. As a Colorado native, I have always had a deep love for sports, nature, and education, but my greatest passion is right here at our school. This year marks my 16th year in education—and I am incredibly proud to say that every single one of those years has been dedicated to Weikel. Over the past decade and a half, I’ve had the privilege of serving our community as a teacher for 6 years, an instructional coach for 2 years, and an administrator for 7 years.
My primary focus as your principal is to cultivate leaders and future life-changers. I am deeply proud to serve our military families and to carry forward the legacy of Captain Ian Weikel. My goal is to ensure our school community thrives by living out his core values of excellence, achievement, service, and leadership every day.
As I begin this next journey, I promise to lead through the lens of a student, the heart of a teacher, and the love of a parent. Because at heart, I am still a student myself—always yearning for adventure, endlessly curious, and genuinely loving school!
Let's have an amazing 2026-2027 school year! Go Weikel! Hoooowwwwwllll!!!!
AP and Special Education Designee - Meggan Carragher

I am honored to serve as Assistant Principal and Special Education Designee at Weikel Elementary and to continue being part of the Wolfpack community. I began my career 15 years ago as a 6th and 8th grade ELA teacher at Fountain Middle School and later served as an instructional coach and Dean of Students at Jordahl Elementary. D8 has always been my home away from home, and my commitment, dedication and loyalty to both our D8 community and the Weikel Wolfpack is unwavering!
Over the summer, I got married and officially became Mrs. Carragher! For those who have known me as Ms. Mears, I am still the same person — just with a shiny new last name. 🙂
Instruction is my passion, and I am committed to supporting high-quality learning experiences for all students. I look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with students and families, supporting Weikel’s new Center Based Autism program, and helping develop ELA teachers to provide exceptional instruction for our students. I am proud to be part of a school community that values growth, collaboration, and student success. Go Wolfpack!
AP of Student Support Services - Randy Menegatti

Greetings, Wolf Pack Families!
My name is Randy Menegatti, and I am delighted to serve as Weikel Elementary’s Assistant Principal of Student Support Services.
In this role, my primary focus is to ensure our school is a safe, positive, and thriving environment where every student can succeed. I am dedicated to working alongside you to uphold our P.A.C.K. expectations, ensuring our student behaviors reflect our core values every day. Additionally, I will be overseeing our school safety and security measures, as well as monitoring student attendance, because being present and feeling safe are the first steps to great learning.
With over 18 years of experience in education, spanning across various levels here on Fort Carson and in community schools, I bring a wealth of knowledge to our endeavors. Furthermore, my background as a professional licensed counselor and therapist allows me to bring a vital mental health lens to this role, deeply informing how I support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of our students and families.
My ultimate aim is to cultivate strong bonds among students, families, and staff, nurturing a vibrant, secure, and supportive learning community. As a Colorado native, I thrive on outdoor adventures and connecting with the natural world. I'm enthusiastic about guiding your children through both challenges and celebrations, fostering their growth along the way.
Here's to a fantastic, safe, and successful year of learning and exploration!
Go Pack! HOOOOWWWWLLLLLL!!!!!
