Principal Misty DeHerrera
“Howl”oooo,
It is such an honor to be a part of the Wolf Pack! I am equally as honored to serve as Principal and to have the opportunity to serve the students, staff and the military and civilian communities of Weikel Elementary, along with Assistant Principals, Mr. Noah Pogar and Ms. Melanie Baker.
Serving as Principal, it is important to me to be a resource to all Weikel community members. My commitment to your child/children is to ensure a positive and safe learning environment. Equally, I am committed to ensuring that we offer a successful educational experience for your child/children.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Jaramillo
Assistant Principal-Melanie Baker
My name is Melanie Baker and I am so lucky to be a member of the Weikel Administration Team! I completed my undergraduate teaching degree at Colorado State University-Pueblo in 2004. The following year, I was hired at Abrams Elementary on Fort Carson, where I taught for almost 12 years. During my time at Abrams, I taught 2nd and 3rd grade. I also worked as a K-5 Interventionist and Instructional Coach. I completed a Master's Degree in Reading Curriculum and Instruction in 2006 and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration in 2016.
I have served the Weikel school community in many capacities since 2017, but one of my most important roles is supporting our K-5 Special Education Program.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, hiking (especially during the fall!), and spending all the time I can with my son. I feel so fortunate to serve military families and to have the opportunity to support children every day. GO WOLF PACK!!!!!
Assistant Principal- Noah Pogar
Howl-O Wolfpack!
My name is Noah Pogar and I am proud to be your friendly neighborhood assistant principal at Weikel Elementary. One of my main duties is to oversee K-5 Special Education. This is my 12th year in education, all at Weikel Elementary. I was a first-grade teacher for six years, a Preschool-5th grade instructional coach for two years, and this is my fourth year as an assistant principal. Weikel is truly my home away from home and it is my mission to ensure everyone who steps foot in Weikel feels the same way!
I am a Colorado native who loves the Denver Broncos, the mountains, and traveling with my family. I have a deep passion for students and I believe education is the foundation for everyone’s future success. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if I can support in the success of your child at Weikel. I am honored to serve the military community and look forward to building relationships with you this school year.
Keep Calm and Howl On!
HOOOOOWWWWLLLLL!
